The roots of UGG can be traced back to the sandy beaches of Byron Bay, where Australian surfers began wearing sheepskin footwear for warmth between sessions. Because of the abundance of sheepskin in Australia the surfers often turned to hand-made basic sheepskin ‘footies’ for natural warmth, comfort and to wick away moisture. It was here that the foundation was laid for the UGG brand.
In 1978 Brian Smith landed in Southern California with a bag of sheepskin boots and hope. It was here the UGG brand was founded based on the relaxed, casual lifestyle that epitomised South California. As popularity grew firstly along the coast and then into central America the UGG brand began to symbolize those who embraced sport, and a relaxed active lifestyle, and by the end of the 90’s, once the name hit New York, celebrities and those in the fashion world started to take notice of the brand and global success started.
The desire for premium casual fashion in the early-mid 2000’s allowed the brand to develop into the phenomenon it is today with a wide variety of followers and fans across the globe loving, and buying into the brand. With comfort at the forefront, alongside the highest quality materials and craftsmanship, and with an ever-growing range of footwear and accessory items on offer, UGG is a symbol of stylish, casual and luxurious lifestyle adored by, and suited to, many.
In the last few years UGG have stepped into the world of high fashion with UGG Collection. The UGG Collection fuses the timeless craft of Italian shoemaking with the reliable magic of sheepskin.
Vidorreta is a business established in a town in La Rioja, Cervera del Rio Alhama, the espadrille cradle in Spain. The company began in the late 1970s as an industry in the manufacturing of the Jute fibre, undergoing all the operations, such as, spinning, plaiting, warping, stitching and vulcanizing, to the manufacturing of the espadrille sole and developed in to the footwear business it is today, creating a fabulous range of Jute espadrilles.
Vidorreta always aim to seek out fashion trends and combine comfort and ecological friendliness to their espadrilles. Their espadrilles include qualities such as transpiration, preventing the accumulation of perspiration on the feet. The platform also adapts to each individual person. Its expansion enables the feet to settle into the jute as if it were a cushion. The natural rubber sole is attached by means of high temperature and pressure vulcanisation, avoiding the use of glues to achieve excellent sole adherence without sacrificing flexibility.
The Vidorreta we wear today is the result of an evolution shared by craftspeople, tradition, innovation and development of what is natural. The traditional artisan-based process is guaranteed by their certification as artisans.

On March 10th, 1863, John A. Frye opened the doors of a small shop on Elm Street in Marlboro, Massachusetts. The shoes he made weren’t icons of fashion or fanciful in style. They served a simple purpose: to ease the daily working lives of the hundreds of factory workers in that small New England town.
The individuals who wore the first Frye shoes were people who valiantly laboured, honing skill and craft, supporting their families and community. When homesteading sparked adventurous New England families to head west in the mid and late 1800s, many of those pioneers wore Frye boots along the journey.
In time, John Frye’s family would grow and, along with it, The Frye Company would expand. Each generation of Frye men dedicated themselves to the art and craft of shoemaking, creating new patterns, discovering new materials, and even inventing shoe-making machinery. Their fervour for the process of crafting footwear as durable as it is beautiful has been the company’s benchmark, ever since. And this dedication has helped the brand craft footwear with a long and illustrious history.
The history and the heritage of the brand is told in every stitch of every shoe made for nearly 150 years: across cultural shifts and changes in fashion, for generation upon generation. Now, Frye boots are accessorized and envied on city streets, worked and roughed up on country roads, and chosen above all others for their inimitable style and uncompromising quality.
